Caring for Your Invisalign Aligners and Your Smile

Your aligners are removable so that you can brush and floss using the same techniques you used before starting treatment. However, there are steps you’ll want to take to prevent tooth decay and gum disease and keep your aligners clear, clean, and odor-free.

Brush your teeth after meals and snacks, and rinse your mouth with water before putting your aligners back in.
Take out your aligners before eating or drinking anything except plain water.
Avoid drinking hot beverages with your aligners in to prevent warping.
Clean your Invisalign aligners regularly using a soft-bristled toothbrush and lukewarm water.
Avoid using toothpaste as it can scratch the plastic.
Brush and rinse your aligners in the morning, at night, and after eating.
